We are a small, friendly group of amateur radio operators who are passionate about all things related to amateur radio, and love serving our local communities with our skillsets. We meet the 2nd Saturday every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, and Nov.) at the Oxford Public Library. Please feel free to stop on by and meet the team and get to know us! It shall be our purpose to encourage the exchange of information and cooperation among members to promote radio knowledge and fraternalism and to support the community in an appropriate fashion through assistance to FEMA District 7 and/or the Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency. The CCARA shall also relay weather conditions in emergency situations, assist as requested and shall assist the Red Cross, Salvation Army or any other non-profit organization in need of our communications assistance.

2017 CCARA Christmas Party

Well… this may be a CCARA club first as the day before this years Christmas party, Central Alabama was at first possibly going to get snow. At first it was a (few) flurries, then upgraded to up to 1/2″, then up to an inch, but in the end it was snow-ma-geddon 2017!!! Many people saw 4″ on average, and others shared they had 10″ of snow!!!

Anniston Lion’s Club Run 8K – 2017

ARRL Field 2017

ARRl Field Day is scheduled for June 24th and 25th at the Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) located at 507 Francis St. W. – Jacksonville, AL 36265. This is a public event and encourages our communities to come and find out more about Amateur Radio, what it all entails, ask questions, and participate hands on.

The CCARA’s repeaters are located on Mt. Cheaha, which is Alabama’s highest peak at 2,407 feet.

The frequencies and tones for the repeaters are, 147.090+ 131.8 tone, 444.750+ 131.8 tone. We also have a WIDE APRS Digipeater WB4GNA, and a APRS Weather Tracker WB4GNA-8.
